Patience-building

Furniture buying on a budget is a fun patience-building activity. For instance…When we added the french doors to this room we knew we would need furniture. But since we don’t typically buy new furniture, I knew it would take some time.

I first came across this blue-ish loveseat at a local thrift store. It definitely needs to be recovered, but I love the lines and the color is great for now. I asked them to reduce the price and ended up getting it for $25. It needs some love, but throw some cute pillows on it and you don’t notice too much!

Then a few weeks back at a flea market I saw this little green guy. He is the perfect size to go in the room and a perfect fit for the other loveseat. This one, they were asking $250 for. It is in great shape (but a little out-dated in the green and cream poka-dots). I knew with some recovery and a little stain or paint on the legs and it would be really cute. After a little friendly discussion, I paid $150 which included delivery to my house. They were so sweet.

So, now I am saving up to be able to recover these pieces. In the meantime I am moving throw pillows around to off-set the “not quite right” situation. Throw pillows really do solve most problems.
