Going Back to El Salvador

Last summer Nic and I went with a Brentwood Church group down to El Salvador. I wrote about it  here and here, and this week we are heading back. Last year we had such an incredible time..we were stretched and challenged and encouraged in more ways than we could have imagined. We were able to serve and love some of the most precious people.

This year we have already been partnered up with some children who are among the neediest at the school we work with. Throughout the week we will spend extra time with these children and we will have the opportunity to meet their families. I want to introduce to you our little girls…

Here is Kimberly

and here is Adrianna

We are pretty much already in love with them. Reading just a little about their stories makes me want to cry and scream, “that’s not fair!!!” But, we are so looking forward to loving them and showering them with attention and physical provisions. I am hopeful that the little we can bring and do will make a lasting impression of love.

I will be writing about my trip while we are in ES, and I would love for you to follow along. Also, if you would like to subscribe to my blog (meaning you will get any new blog posts sent directly to your email) you can do so by filling your email address into the sidebar on my blog where is says “subscribe.”

Also, if you see my rock star babysitter Megan around town, give her a high-five and tell her how impressive she is. (She will be caring for all THREE of our girls while we are away). Fingers crossed for no emotional breakdowns about being away from Penelope for the first time. I will miss all of them (of course), but am especially teary about leaving Penny right now. I know she will be 100% fine and I know our girls will be living it up while we are away.

Let’s do this!
