Well our addition is finally complete and we are just loving our new space. Here are a few shots…

These are the doors we ended up choosing..We went with “french” looking sliding glass doors. We found these let in far more light then the french doors and with the shape of the room, true french doors (that open inward, which is standard) would have been tough to accommodate for.

We went with this look to match the other windows in our home.(oh and to keep little girls from running into them.)

From the outside looking in..We still need to paint the new trim..but I wanted you to see the brick work and the new lights we have installed on each side of the doors.

The mortar on the brick should dry closer to the color of the rest of the house and once we paint the trim work I think it will look pretty darn awesome. This was a pretty tricky job, but we are so happy with the results.

This was certainly a financial investment we have been planning and  saving for. While it was a chunk of money, we are already using the new spaces pretty much constantly. It has also totally changed the way we use the den.  It is now 100 times brighter and it is where we want to spend most of our time ( if we are not on our porch :)

When we first saw this house we spent a moment day-dreaming about doing something like this in this space. I feel truly grateful we have been able to make it happen.
