Humble Foyer

I don’t think I have ever mentioned our sweet little foyer. Here she is before… And After we removed this nasty vinyl (and the million nails used to adhere it to the hardwood. wow.) Painted the walls, replaced the light and accessorized a bit. Just scored this mirror for $30 at Ross (was $79, but caught it on clearance)I  bought it thinking I would put in a clients space, but really love it (so, it might stay.)  And cart that I move around once a week. Boutique Home Sale Success!

If you are wondering how the Boutique Home Sale went..well, it was SO MUCH FUN! We had a great turn out and actually more stuff to sell than was even possible (next time I will post to Craigslist..just didnt know how much good stuff we could pull together). Here are a few pictures from the night… Refreshments (These usually aren’t avaialble at garage sales, right?)   Crowds of shoppers (Mostly talking and hanging out! )   Many of us ended up buying from one another! It’s pretty cool how what you might not be using in your home might be exactly what someone else is looking for for theirs! It was really fun. New Bedside Table/Cart

I found this cart a few weeks back at the Goodwill (along with this huge pile of other items) for $5.50. The color was a really bad gold, but I saw the potential. After a few coats of creme spray paint I have a perfectly unique bedside table. After I spray painted the cart, I took some sandpaper and while the paint was still wet and just sorta scraped the paint off in some places. I like to pretend that my bedroom is in a farmhouse. Simple, rustic and worn looking (hence the vintage blanket, pallet shelving, roughed-up cart and neutral colors.) I left the misplaced pillow and basket of clean clothes right where they were. Contented with relaity, right? I know I am on an old cart kick (and I admit I can get on kicks)…but, I just love

Curvy Couch at the DAV

Just saw the 2nd cousin of my lovely couch (I wrote about here ). It’s at the DAV this very minute. It’s ony $199 and right now all furniture is %30 off. While it does need a little love, the shape, the legs (4 across the front) and the CURVES! are georgeous. Just needed you all to know about her. She needs a home. A happy home.

Springy Moss Wreath

Easy cheesy spring wreath. Started with a pack of moss from Michaels (50% off coupon, $3.50 after coupon) And cut it into pieces like this… And started hot gluing them to this grape vine wreath (since I already owned it). Then I took a springy ribbon and glued some simple buttons onto it…. And in about 15 minutes I had this…   Its fun, and imperfect and springy. (You can see the grapveine pieces coming out the sides, but that doesn’t bother me..it might bother you..if it does, just get a foam form for your wreath base.) Even though it snowed here today, my door looks springy. Thats good for the soul.

Boutique Home Sale

Lynchburg friends! Mark your calendars for the 1st ever (annual maybe?) Boutique Home Sale.  At this sale we will have gently used, but still awesome home decor and furniture items. We have Pottery Barn, West Elm, Crate and Barrel, Pier One, Target and more brands represented. This started because, I have about 20 curtain sets that I just dont have enough windows for. (ha) and I figured I wasnt the only one of my friends storing great home decor items that could be passed along to someone else. So, we will be gathering our items for the sale that will take place from 7-9 pm on April 7th at my home . The prices will be low and the items will be awesome! Plan to come with a group of girls and shop or just come swing by to visit.
